Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), through the Economic Education Study Program of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), held Exponomi (Economic Education Expo) from May 18–20, 2026, at the West Campus Parking Area of UMPWR. The event involved fourth-semester students of the Economic Education Study Program as part of efforts to strengthen students’ entrepreneurial spirit.
Exponomi has become one of the flagship programs of the Economic Education Study Program in developing students’ business skills and creativity through direct practical experience. A total of 80 students actively participated in the event by managing 25 student booths and 5 public booths.
Various creative products were showcased and marketed during the event, ranging from processed fruit products, food and beverages, coffee shops, clothing, to various bouquet creations. Visitors’ enthusiasm was evident from the very first day, making Exponomi not only a learning platform but also a medium for promotion and the development of students’ business ideas.

In addition to the entrepreneurship expo, Exponomi 2026 was enlivened by supporting activities such as live music performances, essay competitions for senior high school students or equivalent, and an exhibition of economic learning media. These various activities added excitement to the event while also creating a collaborative space for university students, school students, and the community.
The Head of the Economic Education Study Program, Cahyo Apri Setiaji, explained that Exponomi is one of the study program’s strategies to equip students with strong and competitive entrepreneurial skills.
“We hope that after graduation, students will not depend solely on job vacancies, but instead be able to create employment opportunities,” he stated.
Through Exponomi 2026, the Economic Education Study Program of FKIP UMPWR hopes that students will continue to develop creativity, innovation, and the courage to build businesses while still in college, enabling them to face the challenges of both the professional and business worlds in the future.
