Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) continues to demonstrate its contribution to community empowerment through the involvement of its lecturers in strengthening the village cooperative sector. Dedi Runanto, S.E., M.Si., a lecturer in the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics, UMPWR, served as a resource person in the Cooperative Education and Training Program for the Management of Red and White Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives (KDMP) for Fiscal Year 2026 in Ngombol District, Purworejo Regency.
The activity, held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Ngombol District Multipurpose Hall, was attended by KDMP administrators from across Ngombol District. The training aimed to motivate cooperative managers to immediately implement their cooperative work plans in line with the accelerated development of KDMP outlets.
During the program, participants received materials on retail management presented by Mr. Arif, as well as governance and acceleration strategies for KDMP outlets delivered by Dedi Runanto, S.E., M.Si.
In his presentation, Dedi Runanto emphasized the importance of a learning spirit and the courage to take action among cooperative managers. According to him, cooperative management should be carried out using the learning by doing principle.
“The duty of KDMP administrators is learning by doing—learning while taking action within the cooperative. Don’t worry, because for the next two years, you will be assisted by Agrinas. Make the most of this assistance to learn and grow,” he stated.
He also explained that the acceleration of KDMP outlet development must be supported by good cooperative governance so that cooperatives can grow professionally, adaptively, and sustainably.
Through this activity, it is hoped that KDMP administrators in Ngombol District will become more prepared to manage village cooperatives effectively and contribute to community economic growth through the development of productive and modern cooperative outlets.
As a higher education institution committed to community service, UMPWR continues to support the strengthening of community capacity and local economic institutions through the contributions of its lecturers and academic community in various strategic fields.
