Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) continues to equip its students with digital competencies through practice-based learning initiatives. One of these efforts was realized through a videography training program attended by students of the Mathematics Education Study Program (Class of 2024) and members of the Science and Technology Student Activity Unit at Hore Farm, Grabag District, Purworejo Regency, on Friday (May 1, 2026).
The training featured digital agriculture practitioner Dwi Setiyo Rahadi, who shared his experience in building a social media-based agricultural ecosystem through the TikTok account Hore Farm. Drawing from past financial setbacks in farming, he developed a content strategy that integrates education and commercialization, commonly referred to as edu-commerce.
During the session, students were not only introduced to the fundamentals of videography from a visual perspective, but also gained insights into how digital content can generate economic value. The materials covered included strategies for understanding social media algorithms, building personal branding, and optimizing content for product marketing.
Dwi explained that his TikTok account serves as an “open learning platform” for young people interested in agriculture. Through informative and practical content, he showcases modern farming practices, ranging from fungicide reviews to the use of drone sprayers.

The training, facilitated by UMPWR lecturer Isnaeni Maryam, M.Pd., emphasized the importance of digital content production skills as a strategic response to economic disruption, particularly in the agricultural sector. Mastery of videography is considered essential in expanding audience reach amid the rapid flow of digital information.
Through this activity, students are expected to develop interdisciplinary competencies, not only in academic knowledge but also in leveraging opportunities within the digital creative economy. In the future, they are encouraged to become niche content creators in the agricultural sector who can both educate and generate economic value.
