Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) held a Syawal 1447 H gathering on Thursday, March 26, 2026, coinciding with 7 Syawal 1447 H, at the Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium. This event served as a moment of togetherness for the entire academic community on the first working day after the Idulfitri holiday.

The event was attended by lecturers, administrative staff, heads of Student Activity Units (UKM), heads of Student Associations (Hima), as well as former lecturers and retired employees. The presence of all campus elements reflected the strong spirit of unity and kinship within UMPWR.

In his remarks, the Chair of the Daily Advisory Board (BPH) of UMPWR, Drs. Hamidi, M.Pd., emphasized the importance of strengthening synergy among the academic community. He encouraged all campus members to continue enhancing collaboration for the advancement of the institution.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., extended his Idulfitri 1447 H greetings to all attendees. In his message, he invited the entire academic community to reduce misunderstandings that may have occurred over the past year and to use the momentum of Syawal as a starting point to strengthen relationships and improve personal quality.

Furthermore, the Rector highlighted the importance of bringing the values and lessons of Ramadan into campus life, such as improving discipline, honesty, empathy, and social awareness. He also encouraged all members of the academic community to continue enhancing the quality of worship after Ramadan and to build a professional work culture. “We hope that UMPWR will continue to grow into an excellent university capable of competing at the international level,” he stated.

The event also featured a religious sermon delivered by Dr. Ruslan Fariadi AM, S.Ag., M.S.I., Chair of the Fatwa and Development Division of MTT PP Muhammadiyah. In his sermon, he conveyed that Ramadan serves as a form of “spiritual immunization” that equips Muslims with the strength of faith to face life afterward.

Through this Syawal gathering, it is hoped that the entire UMPWR academic community will become more united, harmonious, and ready to move forward together in realizing the vision of a globally competitive and excellent university. (akb/KP).
