Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – Through Lazismu Service Office (KL) UMPWR, the university once again spread compassion during the holy month of Ramadan by organizing the distribution of “Ramadan Gift of Love” packages for cleaning service staff within the campus. The activity was held on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Seminar Room of East Campus UMPWR.
A total of 26 cleaning service staff received the Ramadan Gift of Love packages containing basic food supplies and essential items for the upcoming Eid al-Fitr celebration. This assistance was specifically given to cleaning service workers who are still contract employees (non-permanent staff) as a form of appreciation and care for their contribution in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of the campus environment.
The Head of Lazismu KL UMPWR, Ari Fajar Isbakhi, M.Pd.I, in his remarks stated that although the assistance may not be large, it is expected to bring benefits to the recipients.
“Although it is not much, we hope this gift will be useful. This is a form of our concern for cleaning service staff who are still working as contract employees,” he said.
On the same occasion, Ari Fajar also reminded the recipients to maintain discipline in carrying out their religious obligations, especially prayer.
“Do not delay your prayers. Do not treat prayer merely as an obligation, but make it a necessity in our daily lives,” he advised.

Meanwhile, the Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation to the Lazismu administrators who have responsibly managed zakat, infaq, and sadaqah funds so that they can benefit those in need.
“I would like to thank the Lazismu management for managing zakat, infaq, and sadaqah funds responsibly so that they can be distributed to those who need them,” he stated.
The Rector also encouraged the recipients to be grateful for the assistance provided, even though its value may not be significant.
“It may not be much, but please be grateful for it. When we are grateful, Allah will increase His blessings in ways we may never expect,” he said.
Furthermore, he emphasized that the Ramadan Gift of Love program represents a form of social care as well as the blessings of infaq and sadaqah funds collected by Lazismu.
Through this activity, Lazismu KL UMPWR hopes that the spirit of sharing and social solidarity will continue to grow within the campus community, so that zakat, infaq, and sadaqah can bring wider benefits to society. (akb/KP).
