Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) has once again achieved a notable accomplishment in the field of research as three of its lecturers have secured funding from the 2026 DPPM Prototype Grant Program. This funding is intended to support the development of research-based innovative products with strong potential for downstream implementation and wider utilization by society.

This achievement was officially announced by the Directorate General of Research and Development, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, through Announcement Number 138/DST/C4/AL.04.00/2026 dated March 9, 2026, concerning the Recipients of the Priority Research Downstreaming Program – Model and Prototype Testing 2026. The three UMPWR lecturers who successfully received the funding are Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, M.Pd., Dr. Erni Puji Astuti, M.Pd., and Dr. Yuli Widiyono, M.Pd.

Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, M.Pd., is conducting research entitled “Testing the NICE Product as a Prototype of Digital Numeracy Learning Media for Students with Dyscalculia toward Inclusive Education Commercialization Readiness.” The research focuses on developing digital numeracy learning media designed to assist students who experience difficulties in learning mathematics, particularly those with dyscalculia, thereby supporting more inclusive learning environments.

Meanwhile, Dr. Erni Puji Astuti, M.Pd., is developing a study entitled “Prototype of Teachers’ Belief Scale in Numeracy Learning as a Diagnostic Assessment to Improve Learning Quality and Teacher Professionalism.” This product is expected to serve as a diagnostic assessment instrument that can help enhance the quality of numeracy learning while also supporting the development of teacher professionalism.

In addition, Dr. Yuli Widiyono, M.Pd., is developing an innovation through research entitled “Prototype of SMART BRAILLE for Learning Javanese Script for Students with Disabilities in Special Schools.” This innovation aims to improve the accessibility of Javanese script learning for visually impaired students through the use of more adaptive Braille-based technology.

UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation and pride for the achievements of the lecturers.

“We highly appreciate the achievements of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo lecturers who have successfully obtained this research grant funding. This accomplishment demonstrates that research developed within our university is not only oriented toward the advancement of knowledge but also has a real impact on society. We hope that these innovations can continue to be developed toward the downstreaming stage so that they can contribute significantly to the advancement of education, particularly inclusive education,” he stated.

This achievement reflects UMPWR’s strong commitment to strengthening the research culture within the university while producing innovative, applicable, and impactful solutions that contribute to the development of education and society at large. (akb/KP)
