Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) held an iftar gathering for lecturers and administrative staff on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The event took place at the Seminar Room of the East Campus of UMPWR and served as a meaningful moment to strengthen togetherness and spiritual reflection during the holy month of Ramadan.
Prior to the breaking of the fast, the event featured a religious talk (tausyiyah) delivered by H. Nasrudin, M.Si. In his message, he emphasized the importance of making the Qur’an a constant companion in daily life, especially during Ramadan, the month in which the Qur’an was revealed.
“The best among you are those who read the Qur’an. Therefore, never distance yourselves from the Qur’an. During Ramadan, we should increase our recitation and make the Qur’an a close companion in our lives,” he conveyed in his sermon.
He also reminded the audience that Ramadan is a valuable opportunity for Muslims to improve the quality of their worship, increase Qur’anic recitation (tadarus), and strengthen their spiritual connection with Allah SWT.
The iftar gathering was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, bringing together lecturers and staff in the spirit of unity and gratitude. Beyond strengthening relationships among the university community, the event was also expected to encourage a stronger religious spirit among UMPWR’s academic community throughout Ramadan.
Through activities such as this, UMPWR continues to foster a meaningful Ramadan atmosphere on campus while reinforcing Islamic values and solidarity among all members of its academic community.
