Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) conducted the Inauguration and Oath-Taking Ceremony of the Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) for Special Assignment Teachers, Cohorts 2 and 3 of 2025, on Saturday, 31 January 2026, at the Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium, UMPWR. The event was held in a blended format, combining offline and online participation.

A total of 1,113 participants of the 2025 PPG Special Assignment Teachers (Guter) program were officially declared graduates, comprising 566 participants from Cohort 2 and 547 participants from Cohort 3. Of this number, 87 students attended the ceremony onsite at the auditorium, while the remaining participants joined online from various regions across Indonesia.

The onsite ceremony at the Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium was attended by the Chair of the UMPWR Board of Trustees (BPH), the Rector, the Dean of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), the Coordinator of the UMPWR PPG Program, as well as PPG Department Coordinators from Automotive Engineering Education, Mathematics Education, Indonesian Language Education, and English Language Education.

In his remarks, the Coordinator of the UMPWR PPG Program, Dr. Yuli Widiyono, M.Pd., congratulated all newly inaugurated participants and encouraged PPG graduates to remain innovative, adaptive, and continuously improve their competencies after officially attaining professional teacher status.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the UMPWR Board of Trustees (BPH), Drs. H. Muh. Hamidi, M.Pd., emphasized that the inauguration signifies official recognition as professional and competent teachers. According to him, the teaching profession is not merely an academic title, but a mandate and a great responsibility.

“Every piece of knowledge shared is a form of ongoing charity. Be teachers who continue to learn, remain humble, and bring enlightenment—not merely instruction,” he advised.

The Dean of FKIP UMPWR, Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, M.Pd., highlighted that teachers bear a major responsibility in shaping both the education and character of today’s younger generation, especially amid rapidly evolving challenges of the times.

In his address, the Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., stated that the teaching certificate is not merely a formality, but rather the state’s recognition of a teacher’s professionalism and competence. Teachers, he added, hold a strategic responsibility in improving the quality of education, including character education.

The yudisium ceremony also featured a teacher character-building session delivered by UMPWR Professor, Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Pd., under the theme “Strengthening Teachers’ Integrity and Professionalism in Realizing Sustainable Educational Transformation.” This session reinforced graduates’ commitment to practicing the teaching profession with integrity, profess.ionalism, and meaningful impact on the advancement of national education.
