Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), through the Physics Education Student Association (HIMA Pendidikan Fisika), organized the 2026 Educational Visit at SMK Negeri 7 Purworejo on Friday, January 23, 2026. The activity was attended by Grade XII students as part of UMPWR’s efforts to expand the role of higher education institutions in providing education, motivation, and an introduction to higher education for secondary school students.
The educational visit carried the theme “Innovation in Physics through Science Education: Interesting Physics Inspiration for High School.” This theme was chosen to enhance students’ understanding that physics is an applicable and contextual field of study with a strategic role in the development of science and technology. Through this activity, students were expected to gain a more positive perspective on physics learning as well as academic development opportunities in the field of science.
Through this initiative, the Physics Education Student Association of UMPWR introduced the Physics Education Study Program as one of the academic programs committed to producing competent, professional, and competitive graduates in the field of science education. The activity also served as a platform for higher education outreach aimed at encouraging students to pursue further studies at the university level.
UMPWR hopes that this educational visit will make a positive contribution to enhancing students’ knowledge, motivation, and interest in higher education, while also strengthening synergy between higher education institutions and secondary schools in the development of science education.
