Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) continues to strengthen its commitment to developing international networks and collaborations through an academic visit and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kolej Vokasional Tengku Ampuan Afzan Bentong, Pahang, Malaysia.

This strategic initiative was led directly by the Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., together with the Vice Rector IV for Cooperation and Al-Islam Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK), Assoc. The MoU signing ceremony was held on Friday, 23 January 2026, and was officially signed by Rector of UMPWR, Teguh Wibowo, and Saripah Zalha binti Said Abu Bakar, Director (Principal) of Kolej Vokasional Tengku Ampuan Afzan. This agreement marks an important milestone in opening broader opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions.

Through this MoU, UMPWR and Kolej Vokasional Tengku Ampuan Afzan agreed to develop various forms of cooperation, including student and lecturer exchanges, research collaboration, curriculum development, international internship programs, as well as other mutually beneficial academic and non-academic activities.

The Rector of UMPWR stated that this collaboration is part of UMPWR’s vision to become a globally competitive university. “International collaborations like this are crucial to broadening the perspectives of the academic community, improving the quality of education, and preparing graduates who are adaptive and competitive at the global level,” he said.
