Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) — A number of faculty members and students from UMPWR actively participated in an international seminar organized by Amurs State University, Russia, on Friday, 16 January 2026. This academic activity was part of the XIV International Scientific and Methodological Videoconference themed “Teaching Foreign Languages to University and Secondary School Students in the Modern Era,” and was attended by participants from various countries, including Indonesia and Russia.

The event brought together more than 100 participants and featured a wide range of scholarly presentations by academics and students from higher education institutions in Russia, Indonesia, the United States, Mali, Afghanistan, and China. The discussions and presentations focused on current issues in foreign language learning, pedagogy, educational technology, as well as the integration of innovation and international standards in language teaching.

The UMPWR delegation who served as speakers and active participants in the conference included Edi Sunjayanto Masykuri, Abdul Ngafif, Junaedi Setiyono, Puspa Dewi, Sri Maryani, Nurhidayati, and Titi Rokhayati. This international seminar and videoconference also served as an important forum to further strengthen academic exchanges between UMPWR and Amurs State University.

The activity was a continuation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously signed by both institutions. This opportunity opened wider avenues for stronger collaboration, enhanced academic networking, and enriched the insights and knowledge of the academic communities of both universities. During the conference, UMPWR participants presented their research findings in accordance with their respective fields, including language studies, pedagogy, culture, and other disciplines, which received positive responses from international academics and education practitioners.

The intensive discussions and exchange of experiences made this event a significant milestone in the development of international-scale research and higher education. Looking ahead, UMPWR hopes that its cooperation with Amurs State University will not be limited to online seminars or conferences, but will also expand to joint research collaborations, international scientific publications, and collaborative community service programs that provide broad benefits for both institutions and the global community.
