Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) officially sent off two educational staff members to perform the Umrah pilgrimage as a form of institutional appreciation in commemoration of the 61st Anniversary of UMPWR. The two staff members are Ken Dewanti HLS, S.Sos., Head of the General Bureau, and Rochmawati, S.Pd., Head of the Secretariat and Protocol Division. The send-off ceremony was led by the Rector along with all Vice Rectors at the Rector’s Office of UMPWR on Tuesday afternoon, 23 December 2025.
This Umrah program is an annual routine award granted by UMPWR to two educational staff members each year as a mark of respect for their dedication, loyalty, and service in supporting the university’s progress. Through this program, UMPWR provides not only material appreciation but also spiritual recognition.
Ken Dewanti HLS and Rochmawati are scheduled to perform the Umrah pilgrimage on 2–11 January 2026 with Arrahmah Tour, a travel agency owned by Muhammadiyah. The selection of this travel agency also reflects UMPWR’s commitment to supporting Muhammadiyah charitable enterprises.
The Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his hope that the Umrah pilgrimage would bring blessings, inner peace, and serve as motivation to further enhance performance and dedication to the institution. In addition, this program is expected to strengthen spiritual values, togetherness, and loyalty among the entire academic community of UMPWR.
Furthermore, the Rector entrusted hopes and prayers to the two staff members who will be performing the pilgrimage in the Holy Land.
“We also ask for prayers that UMPWR will always be granted ease and blessings, that the number of students will continue to increase, and that UMPWR’s major aspiration to achieve Superior Institutional Accreditation (AIPT Unggul) in 2026 may be realized,” he added.
UMPWR continues to be committed to implementing policies that are humane, sustainable, and have a tangible impact on all members of the academic community, including educational staff who serve as an important pillar in university services and governance.
