Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) – The Psychology Student Association (HIMA Psychology) organized a Socialization of the Student Creativity Program (PKM) on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the East Campus Seminar Room.
The socialization activity was attended by first-semester Psychology students as an initial introduction to programs designed to develop students’ interests, talents, and creativity, facilitated by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology.
The event featured three speakers: Aufa Angga Wimaswara, M.Psi., M.A. (Psychology Lecturer at UMPWR), Dedi Runanto, S.E., M.Si. (Head of Student Affairs at UMPWR), and M. Ferdian Syaifullah, M.Pd. (PGSD Lecturer at UMPWR). Each speaker delivered material on the basic concepts of PKM and P2MW, the available scheme categories, as well as the procedures and strategies for preparing strong and compliant proposals.

In their presentations, the speakers emphasized the importance of student involvement in academic and entrepreneurial activities from the early semesters. PKM was highlighted as a platform for developing critical thinking, research skills, and community service, while P2MW serves as a structured and sustainable means of fostering students’ entrepreneurial spirit.
The activity was conducted interactively through discussion and question-and-answer sessions. Students showed great enthusiasm by raising questions related to idea selection, team formation, and funding as well as mentoring opportunities in both programs.
One of the organizing committee members stated that this socialization aimed to build motivation and readiness among new students so they would feel more confident in participating in national competitions and programs. “We hope first-semester Psychology students already have a clear picture and the courage to begin the process early, whether in research, community service, or entrepreneurship,” he said.
Through this activity, HIMA Psychology UMPurworejo is committed to continuously supporting student capacity development not only in academics but also in strengthening soft skills, creativity, and independence. In the future, this socialization is planned to be followed by ongoing technical assistance in PKM and P2MW proposal writing.
The PKM and P2MW socialization serves as an initial step toward creating an active, innovative student ecosystem that is ready to make meaningful contributions to society and the professional world.
