Kulon Progo – A lecturer of Physics Education from the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), Dr. Raden Wakhid Akhdinirwanto, M.Si., served as a resource person in the Teacher Competency Enhancement Workshop at SMKN 2 Pengasih. The workshop carried the theme “Lesson Plan Development and Strengthening Deep Learning Assessment in the Implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum” and was held on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the Parikesit Meeting Room of SMKN 2 Pengasih, Kulon Progo.
The activity was attended by the principal and several teachers of SMKN 2 Pengasih. It aimed to support the implementation of deep learning-oriented instruction by strengthening teachers’ understanding of lesson plan (RPP) development and assessment strategies aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum.
The workshop was officially opened by the school principal and continued with a presentation delivered by the resource person. The session then proceeded with an interactive discussion and hands-on practice in developing learning assessments, and concluded with a closing session.

In his presentation, Dr. Raden Wakhid Akhdinirwanto explained three main approaches to learning assessment. The first was Assessment of Learning, also known as summative assessment, which is conducted at the end of the learning process to measure students’ learning achievements and is commonly used for grading, reporting, and certification purposes.
The second approach was Assessment for Learning, or formative assessment, which is carried out during the learning process. This type of assessment provides continuous feedback that enables teachers to adjust instruction in real time and helps students stay on track toward achieving learning objectives.
The third approach discussed was Assessment as Learning, which emphasizes students’ active involvement in evaluating and reflecting on their own learning processes. Through this approach, students are encouraged to become independent learners who are capable of regulating, monitoring, and assessing their own learning.
Through this workshop, it is expected that teachers of SMKN 2 Pengasih will be better prepared to effectively implement the Merdeka Curriculum, particularly in applying assessment practices that support deep, student-centered learning.
