Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), through the Student Cooperative Suka Maju (KOPMA SUKMA) and the Entrepreneurship Student Activity Unit, held the Program Pembinaan Mahasiswa Wirausaha (P2MW) 2025 Seminar on Thursday, December 11, 2025. The event, which took place in the East Campus Seminar Room of UMPWR, carried the theme “Empowered Young Generation: Realizing Economic Independence Through Entrepreneurship.”
The seminar was attended by active UMPWR students as well as all members of KOPMA SUKMA and the Entrepreneurship Student Activity Unit for the 2025/2026 period. This activity served as an initial step to instill an entrepreneurial spirit and encourage economic independence among students.
Two speakers were present to share their experiences and strategies in building a business. Sannis Hening Astuti, S.Psi, a UMPWR alumna and recipient of the 2022 P2MW funding, presented material on starting a business from scratch, building networks, and utilizing funding opportunities. Meanwhile, the P2MW Sempontea Team, recipients of the 2025 P2MW funding, provided insights on funding application strategies and shared their experiences participating in the P2MW program.
The seminar aimed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of the entrepreneurial world, starting from identifying business potential and strategies for launching a business to accessing funding opportunities. Through this activity, students are expected to gain greater confidence in creating innovations and developing sustainable business ideas.
The event ran interactively through presentations guided by a moderator, discussions, and Q&A sessions. Participants showed high enthusiasm, demonstrated by the variety of questions raised regarding the challenges of starting a business and steps for securing P2MW funding.
One participant expressed their growing interest in pursuing entrepreneurship. “Through this P2MW Seminar, I have become more interested in entering the world of entrepreneurship. I learned a lot about how to start a business from scratch and how to gain access to funding opportunities. I am also interested in joining the P2MW program,” they said.
Through this seminar, UMPWR reaffirms its commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial culture and shaping a young generation that is economically independent and ready to compete in the global era.
