Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) is strengthening its global collaboration with Marikina Polytechnic College (MPC), Philippines. UMPWR and MPC held another academic meeting to enhance their international partnership plans, specifically discussing preparations for an international seminar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) scheduled for January 2026. The discussion was dynamic and productive, marking the commitment of both institutions to delivering scientific activities with global impact.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Marikina Polytechnic College: Dr. Glen Mangali, Dr. Gio Garcia, and Dr. Grace Joy Cipriano. From UMPWR, the attendees included Dr. Tusino (Vice Rector IV for Cooperation), Dr. Jeki Wibawanti (Head of the Bureau for Cooperation and International Affairs), and Abdul Ngafif (Head of the International Cooperation Division).

During the discussion, both institutions agreed that Dr. Glen Mangali would be one of the speakers at the international seminar. He will share a session with three other speakers from Indonesia, Russia, and India. Regarding his willingness to serve as a speaker, Dr. Glen expressed that MPC is highly enthusiastic about contributing to the seminar. He noted that the theme of Artificial Intelligence is highly relevant and important, and he hopes MPC’s participation will provide valuable insights for participants from various countries.

In addition to determining the speakers, the meeting also discussed administrative follow-up. UMPWR will soon send a formal speaker request letter to MPC, along with the seminar brochure for information and publicity purposes. MPC also expressed its readiness to send students as participants in the seminar, and several faculty members will join as presenters to share the results of their research.

The agreement was positively welcomed by UMPWR. Dr. Tusino stated that the meeting was highly productive and demonstrated strong collaborative spirit. “We believe this international seminar will be the beginning of broader academic cooperation between UMPWR and MPC,” he said.

Furthermore, the two institutions agreed on broader reciprocal collaboration. When MPC organizes academic activities such as seminars, workshops, or competitions, UMPWR will also be invited to participate. This agreement is expected to strengthen academic networks and open more opportunities for knowledge and cultural exchange among students and faculty members from both countries.

This academic meeting reaffirms the commitment of UMPWR and MPC to building sustainable international collaboration, particularly in the fields of technology and artificial intelligence development. With a strong collaborative spirit, the international seminar in January 2026 is expected to become a scientific forum that not only brings together thinkers from various countries but also contributes significantly to the advancement of global science and education.
