Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), together with the Public Relations Forum of Muhammadiyah–’Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA), held a joint prayer for the victims of flooding in North Sumatra, Aceh, West Sumatra, and surrounding areas during the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) and PTMA Public Relations Workshop. The event took place over three days, 5–7 December 2025, at the Grand Rohan Hotel Yogyakarta, and was attended by hundreds of public relations representatives from various PTMA institutions across Indonesia.
The prayer was offered as an expression of empathy, concern, and solidarity from the PTMA Public Relations community toward the people affected by the disaster in those regions.
UMPWR actively participated in this event and was represented by Avizhena Akbar Hersanto, S.H., from the Secretariat and Protocol Division. UMPWR’s participation reflects the university’s commitment to strengthening competence, collaboration, and the strategic role of public relations in building a positive institutional image.
The Rakornas and workshop also featured various capacity-building sessions, including enhancing digital literacy for public relations, public communication strategies, creative content management, and strengthening networks among PTMA institutions. Through this forum, PTMA public relations officers are expected to contribute more significantly to improving service quality, publications, and the institutional reputation of their respective campuses.
The event concluded with a call to continue reinforcing solidarity and taking concrete action to support communities affected by the disaster. PTMA public relations teams are committed to fulfilling their roles not only as information disseminators but also as part of the humanitarian movement that embodies the spirit of Muhammadiyah.
