Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) has once again recorded a strategic milestone in improving the quality of higher education. Through the Instrument for Supplementary Conversion (ISK), UMPWR officially obtained a VERY GOOD accreditation rating at the institutional level as well as for two study programs Agribusiness and Automotive Engineering Education (PTO). The decision was issued by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) on December 2, 2025, serving as strong evidence that UMPWR continues to advance in enhancing governance and academic quality.
BAN-PT issued three Decrees as follows:
1. UMPWR Institutional Accreditation: VERY GOOD, based on BAN-PT Decree Number 2992/Sk/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/PT/XII/2025.
2. Agribusiness Study Program Accreditation: VERY GOOD, based on BAN-PT Decree Number 8432/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/S/XII/2025.
3. Automotive Engineering Education Study Program Accreditation: VERY GOOD, based on BAN-PT Decree Number 8457/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.KP/S/XII/2025.
The VERY GOOD accreditation rating demonstrates that UMPWR has met national quality standards in various aspects, including institutional governance, quality of learning, performance in the tridharma of higher education, and student as well as graduate achievements.
UMPWR Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his gratitude and appreciation for this achievement.
“Alhamdulillah, this VERY GOOD accreditation rating is the result of the hard work of the entire academic community of UMPWR. Accreditation is not merely an administrative assessment; it is a recognition of the university’s commitment and consistency in providing high-quality and competitive educational services. This achievement becomes new energy for UMPWR to continue improving, innovating, and strengthening its position toward becoming an EXCELLENT Higher Education Institution,” the Rector stated.
Meanwhile, the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dwi Irawati, S.E., M.Si., emphasized that the accreditation results through ISK reflect UMPWR’s academic readiness in meeting quality demands in the era of educational transformation.
“The accreditation ratings for both the institution and study programs indicate that academic processes at UMPWR align with quality standards starting from OBE-based curricula, lecturer competencies, adaptive learning processes, to research and community service outputs. We will continue to strengthen our internal quality assurance system as a foundation for achieving the EXCELLENT accreditation rating in the next cycle,” she explained.
The VERY GOOD accreditation at both institutional and study program levels confirms that UMPWR is progressing on the right path of transformation. This achievement also opens wider opportunities for the university to expand national and international collaborations, enhance tridharma innovation, and produce graduates who are ready to compete globally.
With this latest accomplishment, UMPWR is increasingly confident in advancing toward its vision of becoming an excellent higher education institution with strong Islamic character. The university remains committed to continually improving quality, strengthening its academic system, and fostering an inclusive learning environment that aligns with contemporary developments.
