Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) — The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) successfully organized the 2025 National Teachers’ Day Seminar on Tuesday, 25 November 2025, at the Kasman Singodimedjo Auditorium. Carrying the theme “Teachers in the AI Era as Navigators in the Sea of Information,” the event served as an important moment for prospective educators to strengthen their understanding and readiness in facing the challenges of education in the age of artificial intelligence.
Coordinated by the FKIP Student Association, the seminar was attended by more than 800 students from various study programs within FKIP. The enthusiasm of the participants was evident from the beginning, reflecting the high level of concern and awareness among students regarding strategic issues in modern education.
The event featured two inspiring speakers: Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Pd., a Professor at UMPWR, and Suprayitno, S.Pd.I., Principal of SD Muhammadiyah Kutoarjo. Both speakers delivered insightful presentations on the crucial role of teachers as learning navigators in the digital era, where information flows rapidly and abundantly. They emphasized that today’s teachers are not merely transmitters of knowledge but also facilitators, mentors, and information filters for students amid the fast-paced development of technology.
The seminar was held as FKIP UMPWR’s expression of appreciation for the dedication of teachers in advancing the nation’s education, as well as part of the commemoration of the 2025 National Teachers’ Day. It also aimed to strengthen solidarity, togetherness, and the spirit of growth among FKIP students as future educators who are adaptive, creative, and aligned with the demands of the times.
Through this seminar, FKIP students are expected to be increasingly prepared to become a new generation of educators capable of adapting and providing direction amid technological advancements and the complex challenges of future education.
