Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) — The Student Cooperative Unit Suka Maju (KOPMA SUKMA) together with the Entrepreneurship Unit successfully organized Entrepreneurship Class Batch 1, a training program on entrepreneurship and cooperative education for students. The event was held on Saturday, 15 November 2025, carrying the theme “Creativity, Innovation, and Cooperative Spirit”, serving as a learning platform to broaden students’ insights into cooperative-based business practices.
The program took place at the UPT PLUT Purworejo Building and was attended by the Supervisors of UKM KOPMA Sukma and Entrepreneurship Unit, the Supervisory Board, the President of UKM KOPMA Sukma and Entrepreneurship Unit, committee members, and UMPWR students from various study programs.
The session featured Haris Aprianto Setiawan, S.P, Marketing Consultant at UPT PLUT Purworejo, who presented material on Cooperative Membership Education. He emphasized the importance of understanding the values, principles, roles, and responsibilities of cooperative members—knowledge that forms the foundation for students to develop creativity and innovation in entrepreneurship while contributing to a healthy cooperative ecosystem.

Entrepreneurship Class Batch 1 was designed as a learning space for students to understand cooperative concepts, foster entrepreneurial mindset, and expand their knowledge of business innovation. In this interactive learning environment, participants engaged in discussions on good cooperative practices and explored business opportunities that can be initiated even during their university years.
Through this program, the organizers hope that UMPWR students will grow into a generation that is creative, productive, well-versed in cooperative fundamentals, and confident in building independent ventures that bring value to society.
One participant shared, “The material was very insightful about the role of cooperative members. I now better understand how a cooperative works and what contributions we can make as members.”
Entrepreneurship Class Batch 1 marks an important first step for KOPMA SUKMA and the UMPWR Entrepreneurship Unit in nurturing competent, entrepreneurial-minded students who are committed to advancing cooperative development in the future. (akb/KP)
