Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) - Another proud achievement has been made by students on the national stage. Arif Budi Setyawan, a seventh-semester student in the Psychology Program at the Faculty of Psychology, Law, and Social Sciences (FPHIS), secured first place in the Infographics category at the 2025 Central Java Regional A2TPI (Indonesian Association of Psychology Higher Education Institutions) National Competition.
The competition, organized by A2TPI Central Java Region, centered on the theme “The Role of Psychology in Preventing and Addressing Violence in Higher Education Institutions,” which is highly relevant to current social and higher education issues. Through his infographic work, Arif highlighted the importance of psychological factors in creating a safe, inclusive, and equitable campus environment for all academic staff and students.
The award ceremony and announcement of winners took place on October 28, 2025, at UIN Walisongo Semarang, coinciding with Youth Pledge Day, adding meaning to the spirit of the younger generation in creating and contributing positively to society.
Arif's work is considered outstanding because it is able to visualize scientific messages in psychology in an interesting, communicative, and educational way. This achievement is clear evidence that students at Muhammadiyah University Purworejo not only excel in academics, but are also capable of developing creative skills and critical thinking on social issues in the university environment.
The Head of the Psychology Department at UMPWR, Widyaning Hapsari, M.Psi., expressed her appreciation for this achievement. “We are very proud of Arif's achievement. This work shows that UMPWR Psychology students are able to integrate psychology with creative media to provide real solutions to social problems on campus,” she said.
UMPWR remains committed to supporting students in various academic and creative endeavors as part of its efforts to cultivate a progressive, integrity-driven, and humanitarian-minded generation.
