This event was held as part of the selection process for the 2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Week (Porprov).
The event, held from October 20 to 25, 2025, saw both athletes representing the Indonesian Rafting Federation (FAJI) of Purworejo Regency in the Women's R4 and Women's R6 classes, competing in the Sprint, Slalom, Head to Head (H2H), and Down River Race (DRR) disciplines on the Tuntang River, Pesona Garda, Candirejo Village, Pringapus District, Semarang Regency.
In this prestigious event, which was attended by 17 Central Java Rafting Branch Administrators and 310 athletes, the FAJI Purworejo Women's R6 team won a silver medal in the Down River Race (DRR) and a bronze medal in the Head to Head (H2H) event. Thanks to the team's consistency and hard work, FAJI Purworejo was crowned the 3rd Place Winner in the R6 Women's Category of the 2025 Central Java Provincial Games Qualifying Round and is eligible to advance to the 2026 Central Java Provincial Games XVII.

The FAJI Purworejo team itself is coached by Saeful Mujab, a 2018 graduate of UMPWR, who is now actively coaching young athletes to excel at the regional and provincial levels. Saeful Mujab said that the team's hard work paid off and they returned home with medals.
“Alhamdulillah, the team's hard work has paid off with 1 silver and 1 bronze medal, allowing us to qualify for the 18th Provincial Sports Week (Porprov) in 2026. Hopefully, at next year's Porprov, we can give our best and win a gold medal,” he said.
Ela Kurnia Sari, who secured 3rd place in the Women's R6 category at the 2025 Central Java Provincial Sports Week Qualifiers, expressed her joy and pride in bringing honor to Mapala Surya Rimba, UMPWR, and Purworejo Regency. She also hopes to perform even better at the 2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Week.
“I am certainly very happy and proud. My hope for the future is that Faji Purworejo Regency will continue to excel and compete with other regencies and further improve the capacity of its athletes so that they can achieve their targets at the 2026 Central Java Provincial Sports Week,” said Ela.
This achievement serves as proof that students and alumni of UMPWR are not only outstanding in academic fields but also possess a high spirit of competition in water adventure sports. Ela and Aulia's accomplishments are hoped to inspire other students to continue developing their potential and sportsmanship spirit in various competitive events. (akb/KP).
