Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) - In the spirit of strengthening ties and fostering collaboration between educational institutions, a friendly football match was held against the team from the Indonesian Teachers' Association (PGRI) Muntilan, Magelang Regency. The match took place at the Tamanagung Football Field in Muntilan on Monday (13/10/2025) afternoon.
The match was filled with warmth and camaraderie. Despite the competitive spirit on the field, both teams played fairly and upheld the values of friendship. This match was not merely a showcase of athletic ability, but also a means of strengthening the bonds of brotherhood between UMPWR lecturers/teaching staff and teachers who are members of PGRI Muntilan.
UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., was also present and participated as one of the players. He stated that such activities are crucial for expanding networks and strengthening relationships among education professionals.
“The score is not the primary objective. What matters most is fostering connections, increasing the number of colleagues, and cultivating a spirit of unity among educators,” he explained.
Meanwhile, representatives from PGRI Muntilan also welcomed the initiative from UMPWR. They hope that this activity can continue in the future with various forms of cooperation, both in the fields of sports and academics.
The event concluded with a group photo and a simple social gathering that further warmed the atmosphere. Through such activities, UMPWR continues to demonstrate its commitment to building productive partnership networks while reinforcing the values of brotherhood and sportsmanship.
