Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) once again demonstrated its social concern for the surrounding community through social service activities (baksos) in commemoration of its 61st anniversary. The activities were held at three locations: Campus II Plaosan, the Sucen Juru Tengah Village Hall for the community around Campus III Sucen, and the Loano Village Hall for the community around the HM. Roestam Student Islamic Boarding School. These activities, which were held simultaneously on Wednesday, 1 October 2025, were a collaboration between UMPWR and Bank Danamon Syariah.
At each location, UMPWR distributed 42 food packages consisting of 7 packages for village/sub-district officials and 35 packages for residents, as well as 24 packages as reserves. Thus, a total of 150 food packages were distributed to the community, which had been previously registered through the local sub-district/village offices.

UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., opened and symbolically presented the social assistance at Campus II Plaosan. On this occasion, the rector asked for prayers from the recipients of the social assistance so that UMPWR would succeed in becoming a university with EXCELLENT Higher Education Institution Accreditation, an increase in students, and an improvement in the quality of lecturers and educational staff.
The food packages contained cooking oil, instant noodles, sweetened condensed milk, granulated sugar, biscuits, tea, and soy sauce. The presence of these food packages is expected to help alleviate the daily needs of the beneficiaries.
Through this social service activity, UMPWR not only celebrated its 61st anniversary with joy, but also reaffirmed its commitment as a campus that cares for and is present for the surrounding community. (akb/KP).
