Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) held a free blood donation event as part of the 61st anniversary celebrations on Wednesday, 24 September 2025. Held in the East Campus Seminar Room of UMPWR, this event was organised in collaboration with the UMPWR Anniversary Committee, the UMPWR PMI KSR Student Organisation, and the Purworejo Regency PMI.
The blood donation was open to both the academic community and the general public. This activity was not only a form of social concern, but also a tangible manifestation of UMPWR's anniversary spirit to bring greater benefits to the community.
Dr. Sapardiyono, M.H., Chair of the 61st Anniversary Committee of UMPWR, stated that this blood donation activity is expected to foster awareness of the importance of sharing, particularly in providing the much-needed blood supply for patients in hospitals.
‘Blood donation is a simple but very meaningful act for others. With the spirit of our 61st anniversary, we would like to invite the entire UMPWR family and the community to participate in this humanitarian activity,’ he said.
The blood donation event was marked by the enthusiasm of participants, including faculty members, educational staff, students, and the local community around the campus. A total of 70 participants registered, and 50 were deemed eligible to donate blood. Through this initiative, UMPWR not only celebrates its anniversary but also reinforces its social role as a university committed to health and humanitarian causes.
