Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) successfully held the Grand Final of the Digital Learning Media Competition among primary, secondary, and high school teachers in Kedu as part of the 61st anniversary celebrations on Tuesday (23/9/2025) in the East Campus Seminar Room.

The competition was previously participated in by 21 contestants who submitted their innovative works online. After a rigorous selection process, the top three contestants from each level—elementary, junior high, and senior high school—were chosen to advance to the final round.

In the grand final stage, the finalists had the opportunity to present their digital learning media works directly in front of the judging panel. The assessment criteria included aspects of innovation, creativity, relevance to the curriculum, ease of use, and impact on the learning process in the classroom.

The Chair of the UMPWR 61st Anniversary Committee, Dr Sapardiyono, M.H., said in his speech that this competition was intended to hone teachers' creativity and reward their innovative work. Dr. Sapardiyono emphasised that this competition is very important because learning media is changing rapidly, so learning media must also evolve and adapt to the times and to the needs of the new generation.

The Rector of UMPWR, Associate Professor Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., said that this competition is important for honing the creativity of teachers. ‘This competition is important for honing the creativity of teachers. Good media is not media that is purchased, but media that is created by teachers,’ he explained. In addition, this competition is also useful for honing digital skills, building portfolios, and boosting teachers' confidence.
