Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) continues to demonstrate its commitment to preparing excellent, professional, and competitive prospective educators. As a form of quality control, the Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., conducted Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of the School Environment Introduction Programme (PLP) on Thursday, 18 September 2025, at three partner schools, namely SMA Negeri 7 Purworejo, SMK Negeri 1 Purworejo, and SMA Negeri 1 Prembun.
The PLP programme is an important stage in the education process for prospective teachers at UMPWR. Through this activity, students are directly introduced to school culture, learning management, and various managerial aspects within the school environment. During the monitoring and evaluation, the Rector of UMPWR directly observed the progress of the programme, engaged in dialogue with PLP participants, mentor teachers, and school administrators. He expressed his high appreciation to the partner schools for their openness and for providing maximum support to the students.
‘The PLP programme serves as a bridge connecting students with the world of schooling. Through this activity, they learn about student characteristics, classroom dynamics, and how to become educators who possess both empathy and competence. We are grateful to our partner schools for collaborating with UMPWR to produce professional teacher candidates,’ said the Rector of UMPWR.
In addition to monitoring, the Monev activity also serves as a joint evaluation space to improve and develop the programme in the future. UMPWR continues to strive to ensure that PLP is not just an introductory programme, but truly a learning vehicle that has a real impact on prospective educators.
With this Monev initiative, it is hoped that collaboration between UMPWR and partner schools will grow stronger, and students will gain valuable experience as a foundation for becoming inspiring, innovative, and adaptable educators capable of addressing the challenges of the modern era.
