Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) continues to expand its network of cooperation with high schools in the Purworejo region. This time, UMPWR is implementing a collaboration with SMA Negeri 1 Purworejo in order to strengthen the quality of education and improve student achievement. In this case, Dr. Jeki Wibawanti, M.Eng., M.Si., a lecturer in the Animal Husbandry Study Program and Head of the UMPWR International Affairs Office (KUI), was the guest speaker at the Basic Research Training (LDP) 1 event on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at SMA Negeri 1 Purworejo.
Vice Principal Mr. Sunardi, S.Pd., M.Pd., in his opening remarks, stated that this Basic Research Training is part of the school's efforts to make SMA Negeri 1 Purworejo an outstanding institution and continuously improve student achievements, particularly in academic fields, by participating in scientific competitions and enhancing performance at the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas).
Dr. Jeki Wibawanti, M.Eng., M.Si., presented a paper titled “Strategies for Achieving Excellence and Writing High-Quality Scientific Papers.” In her presentation, Dr. Jeki said that it is important to build a scientific culture from the outset, not just when participating in competitions. A scientific paper requires innovative research that solves various problems that exist in the surrounding environment. The topic should be current and relevant to developing issues. In addition, she emphasized that achievement is not only determined by intellectual intelligence, but also needs to be supported by emotional, spiritual, and social intelligence, so that students are expected to be able to improve their critical thinking skills and develop innovation and creativity.
Through this program, UMPWR affirms its commitment to be closer to schools in Purworejo, providing tangible benefits, ready to become a strategic partner for schools in preparing their best students to achieve success and bridging students to a brighter future.
