Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) – KKN Group 9 held an awareness campaign on parenting and family financial management on Wednesday, 27 August 2025. The event was held at the Krandegan Village Meeting Hall, Bayan District, Purworejo, and was attended by 35 mothers from the Krandegan Village PKK.
Session 1 on parenting was delivered by Dr. Eko Harianto, M.S.I., Field Supervisor for KKN Group 9, who is also a lecturer in the Psychology Study Programme at the Faculty of Psychology, Law, and Social Sciences, UMPWR. He said that what today's children need is not perfect parents, but parents who are emotionally present.
Next, in session 2, material on family financial management was presented by Dedi Runanto, M.Si., a lecturer in the Management study programme at UMPWR. He said that in these difficult times, mothers must be smart in managing their finances. This includes minimising unnecessary expenses and setting aside some money for urgent needs.
The socialisation event concluded with the distribution of door prizes to participants who asked questions during the session. The Krandegan Village, represented by the Village Secretary, expressed their appreciation and gratitude for choosing Krandegan Village to host the event. The Head of the PKK, Fitriyana, also expressed her gratitude and said that mothers are always enthusiastic when similar events are held again. May this successful event be beneficial and may the knowledge gained be applied by the PKK mothers.
