Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) – One of the lecturers from the Physics Education Programme, Dr. R. Wakhid Akhdinirwanto, M.Si., had the opportunity to serve as a speaker at an Information Security Awareness Campaign and Community Information Society (KIM) Awareness Campaign held at the Adikarto Hall in the Kulon Progo Government Complex on Wednesday, 20 August 2025.
The event was organised by the Kulon Progo District Communication and Information Office and attended by the Regent, Vice Regent, all OPDs, District Heads, Village Heads/Chiefs, and the DIY Regional Development Board. During the event, Dr. Wakhid presented material on the importance of digital literacy and information security in the era of digital transformation. According to him, information freedom ensures access to information, while data security protects information from misuse and illegal access. Both must be maintained in balance to create a healthy and safe digital environment.
The participation of UMPWR lecturers in this event reflects the university's tangible contribution to enhancing community digital literacy and strengthening public communication networks in the region. (akb/KP).
