Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) — In an effort to strengthen quality culture and prepare for institutional accreditation, the Quality Assurance Agency (LPM) held a Non-Academic Internal Quality Audit (AMI) Preparation activity entitled ‘Auditee Harmonisation’ on Tuesday, 5 August 2025, online.
This activity was conducted as part of the university’s internal quality assurance cycle, specifically targeting non-academic units such as academic administration, finance, human resources, student affairs, facilities and infrastructure, and other supporting units.
The Head of the Quality Assurance Agency (LPM) at UMPWR, Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Pd., stated in his opening remarks that the Non-Academic Internal Quality Audit (AMI) is not only aimed at evaluating the performance of work units but also serves as a strategic step in preparing relevant data and evidence for institutional accreditation purposes. Therefore, the audit instruments were aligned with the accreditation criteria that will be submitted in 2026.
In this year's Non-Academic AMI, audits will be conducted in accordance with existing fields, such as academics, finance and human resources, student affairs, cooperation and AIK, as well as the institutions under their respective fields of responsibility.
"We want to ensure that every non-academic unit understands its strategic role in supporting the overall achievements of the institution. Harmonisation between auditors and auditees is key to ensuring that the audit process is objective, constructive, and meaningful,” he explained.
With the theme “UMPWR Promotes Auditee Harmonisation,” this activity is designed to build a shared understanding between auditors and auditees and prepare what is needed to face the Non-Academic AMI from the institutions at UMPWR. This is important so that audits are not perceived as mere evaluations, but rather as evaluative dialogue spaces for improving and strengthening the institution's quality management system.
The Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., welcomed the implementation of this activity and emphasised that internal audits are an integral part of the accreditation process.
‘The quality of non-academic services greatly influences public perception and the overall performance of the institution. Therefore, this internal audit is an important foundation for ensuring that all aspects of campus services run in accordance with existing standards,’ he said.
The Internal Non-Academic Quality Audit is scheduled to take place on 19–20 August 2025, involving an internal audit team that has been trained and equipped with an understanding of the latest accreditation-based instruments. (akb/KP).
