Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo (UMPWR) – Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., along with the Head of the Information Technology Study Programme, Murhadi, S.PdT., M.Eng, attended the Purworejo Smart Forum 2025 event organised by the Purworejo Regency Secretariat on Tuesday, 29 July 2025. The event was held at the Purworejo Regency Hall as part of collective efforts to realise Purworejo as a smart, innovative, and competitive regency.
The forum brought together various stakeholders, including local government officials, department heads, agency heads, educational institutions, and local government staff, to align strategic steps in improving education quality, technology, and community empowerment.
The Rector of UMPWR expressed his appreciation for the Purworejo Regency Government's initiative in organising this strategic forum. He reaffirmed UMPWR's commitment as a higher education institution ready to collaborate and contribute meaningfully to human resource development and regional innovation.
‘Muhammadiyah University of Purworejo is ready to be an active partner of the Regional Government in realising a smart Purworejo through the three pillars of higher education, particularly in terms of applied research, community service, and curriculum development based on regional needs,’ said the Rector of UMPWR.
This Purworejo Smart Forum is expected to serve as a sustainable cross-sectoral collaboration platform, driving the implementation of data-driven policies and innovations to support inclusive regional development. UMPWR's participation in this forum underscores the strategic role of higher education institutions in supporting regional development and strengthening collaborative ecosystems to realise a more advanced and competitive Purworejo in the future.
