Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - English Education lecturer, Edi Sunjayanto Masikuri, S.S., M.Pd., who is a doctoral student at NSPU in Russia, represented his university at the International Student Media Conference. Thanks to his victory in the ‘Russia in the Eyes of Foreign Students’ contest, Edi Masikuri, a graduate student at NSPU's Faculty of Foreign Languages, took part in the International Rally of Student Media III as a representative of the Novosibirsk Region.
The International Student Media Rally is a project organised by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education, which aims to create a platform for students from different countries to exchange experience and knowledge, improve their professional competence, develop international cooperation in the field of media, and promote Russian education abroad. In 2025, 100 international students and experts - representatives of 36 countries, 26 cities of the Russian Federation, and 50 universities gathered at the event.
Edi Sunjayanto Masikuri came to Russia from UMPWR Indonesia in 2023, in 2024 he entered the postgraduate programme at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of NSPU, the programme ‘Professional Education Methodology and Technology’. Now Edi also helps NSPU as an assistant at the Department of Linguistics and Translation Theory, teaches workshops on the culture of speech communication and writing in English, studies Russian intensively, writes a doctoral thesis, and communicates a lot with Russian students.

The meeting was held in an amazing place on the territory of the ethnographic park-museum ‘Etnomir’ in the Kaluga region. However, the most important thing about this wonderful event was the opportunity to communicate with students from different universities united by their love for the Russian language and Russian culture.
"I learnt a lot about the Russian national character and family customs, Russian cuisine and traditional medicine, traditional crafts and modern media technology! My team and I worked on an education-themed project and even won a medal in the "Best Idea" category representing Indonesian students. Even though another team won the grand prize, we still gained unforgettable impressions and new friends. Thank you NSPU for the opportunity to gain new knowledge and inexpressible emotions!" said Edi Masykuri sharing his impressions.
‘The faculty honoured this memory and made it an opportunity to create a profile of the NSPU campus.’, said Inna Valerjevna, head of the department of linguistics and translation theory and dean of the faculty of foreign languages, Ekaterina Kostina Alekseevna.
