Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., accompanied by UMPWR Secretariat and Protocol staff attended a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) entitled Equalising Perceptions of Campus Impact: Quality, Relevant, and Impactful Private Universities (PTS) organised by LLDIKTI Region VI Central Java. This activity took place in the Rectorate Hall Room 3rd Floor Campus 2 of Universitas Muhammadiyah Magelang (UNIMMA), and was attended by leaders from 12 private universities in the former Kedu Karisidenan including UNIMMA as the host, UMPWR, UNSIQ Wonsobo, IBISA Purworejo, Politeknik Muhammadiyah Magelang, STIKES Pemkab Purworejo, STIKES Muhammadiyah Wonosobo, Tirta WIyata Engineering Academy, Muhammadiyah Temanggung Health Academy, Dr. Soedjono Health Academy, Karya Bhakti Nusantara Nursing Academy, and Alkautsar Temanggung Nursing Academy.
This FGD aims to equalise the vision and strategy in building a positive image and strengthening the role of PTS in supporting regional and national development. The Head of LLDIKTI Region VI, Prof. Dr. Harun Joko Prayitno, M.Hum, on the occasion also provided a lot of input and suggestions for universities that have obstacles, especially for universities with the number of students below 1000. Furthermore, LLDIKTI VI also highlighted several campuses that still organise employee classes with very minimal face-to-face quantity. Whereas to become a PTS that is Quality, Relevant, and Impactful, a quality lecture process is needed.
The Rector of UMPWR welcomed this initiative and said that UMPWR continues to be committed to improving the quality of education, strengthening the relevance of the curriculum to the needs of industry and society, so that later it will have an impact on society at large.
"Our participation in this FGD is part of UMPWR's efforts to continue learning, collaborating, and developing. We hope that the results of this discussion can strengthen the synergy between PTS and LLDIKTI VI, so as to produce PTS that are Quality, Relevant, and Impactful," said the Rector of UMPWR.
With this forum, it is hoped that all PTS under the coordination of LLDIKTI Region VI will be more solid and directed in building quality and competitiveness, and be able to show a real positive impact on the surrounding community. This FGD is also a tangible form of LLDIKTI Region VI's role as a strategic partner of higher education, which is not only supervisory but also mentoring. With a collaborative spirit, LLDIKTI VI strives to create a superior, quality higher education ecosystem and make a broad contribution to society.(akb/KP).
