Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo — The mini soccer team of lecturers and staff (Senwai) from Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) successfully secured the Runner-Up position in the inter-university mini soccer tournament for Muhammadiyah and 'Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions (PTMA) across Central Java and Yogyakarta. The tournament was organized by the Sports Development Institute (LPO) of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership and was held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Maleha Sportaiment, Yogyakarta.
The competition was intense from the group stage, with eight teams participating, divided into two groups. Group A consisted of Unimma, Umuka, UAD, and UMS, while Group B featured UMPWR, UMP, LPO PP Muhammadiyah, and Unisa. Led directly by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., who served as team captain, and Agung Setiawan, M.T. as team manager, UMPWR delivered an outstanding performance with the following results:

With two victories and one draw, UMPWR advanced as group winners and proceeded to the final match against Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS).

Despite falling short in the final, the Runner-Up achievement stands as a proud moment for UMPWR, who played with great spirit and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
This event not only served as a platform for athletic excellence but also strengthened camaraderie and academic fellowship among PTMA communities across Central Java and Yogyakarta.
