Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - affirmed as the best campus in the former Kedu karisidenan (District / City of Magelang, District Purworejo, District Wonosobo, District Kebumen, and District Temanggung) in the May 2025 edition of the Unirank 4ICU campus ranking. This predicate has not been displaced for the last few years. Reporting from the website https://www.unirank.org/id/, there are at least 610 campuses ranked throughout Indonesia. This ranking is the result of an evaluation conducted by UniRank 4ICU, an independent and trusted university ranking agency. UMPWR managed to outperform many other campuses in the Kedu region and become one of the best PTMAs in Indonesia.
UMPWR also strengthened its position as the second best campus among Muhammadiyah/Aisyiyah Universities (PTMA) in Central Java, under Muhammadiyah Surakarta University, and the 10th best PTMA nationally. Still in Central Java, UMPWR's position is ranked as the 11th best university for both public and private universities, and 7th for fellow private universities in Central Java. In general, UMPWR nationally is still always in the top 100 best campuses in Indonesia, which is ranked 88th in the May 2025 edition of UniRank 4ICU.
UMPWR Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his gratitude for this ranking result. ‘We are very grateful for the trust given to UMPWR. We will continue to improve our quality to further improve this ranking,’ said UMPWR Rector.
