Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) has successfully passed as a Training Provider Institution (LPD) for Learning Coding and Artificial Intelligence in 2025. FKIP UMPWR is one of 90 institutions that have passed. Learning Coding and Artificial Intelligence in 2025 is part of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) programme to increase teacher capacity in the field of technology, by preparing 40 thousand schools to host coding and AI learning. This result is based on a letter from the Directorate General of Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and Secondary Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture Number: 3644/C/DM.00.02/2025 dated 21 April 2025 concerning: Notification of Passing LPD Selection signed by Gogot Suharwoto, S.Pd., M.Ed, Ph.D., as Director General of PAUD Dikdasmen. Gogot Suharwoto explained that Coding and Artificial Intelligence Learning is an important first step in building a more adaptive, transformative, and inclusive future education ecosystem.
The Coding and Artificial Intelligence Learning LPD will organise several programmes including Coding and AI Learning for elementary, junior high, and high school students, Training for teachers (Coding and AI Facilitator Candidates), and Training of Trainers (ToT). UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his congratulations and gratitude for FKIP UMPWR's qualification as a Training Provider Institution (LPD) for Learning Coding and Artificial Intelligence in 2025. ‘We feel very proud and honoured to have been trusted to be one of the training provider institutions that focus on developing coding and artificial intelligence skills. This is an excellent opportunity for UMPWR to improve the quality of education in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence,’ he said.
Furthermore, the Rector also hopes that with this designation, UMPWR can become a superior institution in organising coding and artificial intelligence learning training, and can make a significant contribution to the development of human resources in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence.
