Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - Dr. Junaedi Setyono, M.Pd. (Lecturer in Master of English Education) and Dr. Herlina Setyowati, M.Pd. (Lecturer in Javanese Language and Literature Education) returned as resource persons at the Technical Guidance (Bimtek) for Writing Based on Local Cultural Content (Phase II) organised by the Purworejo Regency Library and Archives Office. This activity was held on Tuesday, 15 April 2025 at the Hall of the 2nd Floor Support Building of the Purworejo Regency Public Library. In addition to the two UMPWR lecturers, this activity was also again filled by resource person Nurhantoro.
A total of 60 participants attended this phase II technical assistance. This activity is a continuation of the first stage of guidance which was held on 11 March 2025. In this phase II, Bimtek focuses more on evaluating the results of the revision of the essay script.
This activity is divided into 2 sessions. The first session was for providing material on script editing activities and the second session was for evaluating the manuscripts that had been revised by the participants. Manuscripts that have gone through the revision process will later be re-edited by the committee so that they are ready to be published and suitable for reading by the public. The plan is that on 4 May 2025, there will be a launch of a potpourri book of essays from the participants. At the launch, the committee will organise a more lively and thick with cultural nuances.
During the activity, the participants were very enthusiastic about participating in the event as evidenced by the interaction during the implementation of the technical assistance. "Alhamdulillah, the event went smoothly. The participants were very enthusiastic and the material presented was weighty. Hopefully in the future talented writers will be born as an asset for Purworejo Regency.
