Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - starting the first day of active academic and administrative activities after the holiday and joint leave of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H, UMPWR held a gathering attended by university leaders, lecturers, tendik, lecturers / tendik who have retired, and student representatives. This event aims to strengthen the relationship and foster a sense of togetherness among all components of the campus. Prof Dr Masrukhi, M.Pd (Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang) was the speaker of the event.

The Chairman of the UMPWR Daily Board of Trustees (BPH) Drs. Muh. Hamidi, M.Pd., said that togetherness in this gathering may be a blessing for all in carrying out their duties at the UMPWR institution. ‘Gathering is not only a place to meet and greet, but also to establish kinship,’ he said.

Drs. Muh. Hamidi explained that the togetherness and collaboration that exists among lecturers and staff is very necessary for the progress of UMPWR institutions. BPH highly appreciates the hard work and dedication of all lecturers and staff in carrying out their respective duties. He hopes that every individual at UMPWR will continue to strive to improve professionalism and quality in carrying out their respective roles.

In his speech, UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., said that this event was a good moment in the month of Shawwal to connect and forgive each other. The Rector on the occasion conveyed some of the latest developments at UMPWR, including emphasising lecturers to do further studies and strengthen English.

"Human resources are very important, for that I encourage lecturers to do further studies and also strengthen English. Moreover, UMPWR already has several foreign students from Thailand and Mali, and there will be another 7-8 additional foreign students", he explained.

Prof. Dr. Masrukhi, M.Pd in his tausiyah said that the momentum of Eid al-Fitr which is marked by singing Takbir is a form of glorifying Allah. "People who do not want to say Takbir, means they are arrogant people, people who are arrogant. Only Allah has the nature of Mutakabbir, therefore humans should not be arrogant," he explained.

The spirit of takbir is what must always be instilled in every activity and in carrying out tasks on campus, so that all activities are intended for Allah. ‘With the spirit of takbir, your sincerity in educating students InsyaAllah will be rewarded by Allah’, he said.

The gathering was followed by shaking hands and forgiving each other. UMPWR hopes that this gathering can be an example for other higher education institutions in strengthening the relationship and fostering a sense of togetherness among all campus components. (akb / KP).
