Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - Conducted the third week of Ramadan Friday Study for all Lecturers and Education Personnel on 21 March 2025 / 21 Ramadan 1446 H. Located in the East Campus Seminar Room of the Rectorate Building, this recitation was held for one hour starting at 08.00 WIB until 09.00 WIB. The recitation this time was filled by resource person Nur Ngazizah, S.Si., M.Pd., who is a lecturer in the UMPWR PGSD Study Program as well as the Chairperson of the Regional Leadership of ‘Aisyiyah Purworejo Regency. Guided by moderator Dr Hermawan, M.Pd.i., Nur Ngazizah, S.Si., M.Pd., delivered material on Strengthening the family in the digital era.

Nur Ngazizah, S.Si., M.Pd. said that the relationship between parents and children is not just a biological relationship, but also a relationship of faith. Our task is how to embrace all family members to enter heaven together. He also expressed concern from the data obtained that Indonesia ranks first in the use of gadgets, and first in violence against women. ‘What is surprising is when domestic violence is the main perpetrators are parents, the main perpetrators are the closest people to our children,’ he explained.

Heaven is the common goal and target of all families. Nur Ngazizah quoted Q.S. Ar-Ra'd which means ‘(That is) the paradise of ’Adn. They enter it with the pious of their ancestors, spouses, and descendants, while angels enter their place from all doors.’

Children can raise parents to enter heaven, where the prayers of pious children are one of the three things that are not interrupted when parents die. Likewise, parents can also attract their children to enter heaven to a higher level. ‘And those who believe, and their children and grandchildren who follow them in faith, We meet them with their children and grandchildren (in Paradise), and We do not diminish in the least the reward of their deeds (virtues). Everyone is bound by what he does’ (Q.S. At-Thuur: 21). Ibn Abbas RA said that the children and grandchildren of believers will be elevated by Allah SWT if they are lower than their parents. Allah SWT then gave a description of the situation of heaven which is full of pleasure.

Furthermore, Nur Ngazizah conveyed some of the characteristics of parents who are disobedient to their children, including:

1. Not providing good religious and moral education;

2. Being harsh, rude, hurting children;

3. Not providing for the child in a halal and adequate manner;

4. Being unfair to his/her children;

5. Forcing children to do haraam things and keeping them away from good things.

6. Not praying for the child, instead cursing him.

Hopefully we can all imitate the Prophet Muhammad SAW in educating children with compassion, so that we can enter heaven as a family. (Akb / KP).
