Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - Conducted the second pecan Ramadan Friday Study for all Lecturers and Education Personnel on 14 March 2025. Located in the East Campus Seminar Room of the Rectorate Building, this recitation was held for one hour starting at 08.00 WIB until 09.00 WIB. The recitation this time was filled by resource person H. Sartu Ali Muhsin, S.Pd.I., who is the management of the UMPWR Daily Board of Trustees. Guided by moderator Ahmad Komarudin, S.Pd., H. Sartu Ali Muhsin, S.Pd. delivered material on the Importance of Humans Guarding the Heart.
H. Sartu Ali Muhsin, S.Pd., explained the importance of repairing the heart because by repairing the heart, we can become people who always feel enough. ‘Now there are many people who have abundant fortune but still feel poor, and commit corruption. Even though they are smart people, have positions, lots of wealth, but their hearts are sick,’ he explained.
The heart is the determinant of our lives in this world and the hereafter. If our hearts are good then, everything will be good. As the prophet hadith, ‘Remember, as a matter of fact in the body there is a clot of blood (mudhghoh). If the clot of blood is good then the whole body will be good, but if the clot of blood is damaged then the whole body will be damaged, know the clot of blood is the heart’ (HR. Bukhari and Muslim).
There are at least five things that cure the heart, namely reading the Qur'an, diligent night prayers, gathering with righteous people, fasting, and multiplying night dhikr. H. Sartu Ali Muhsin, S.Pd advised Lecturers and Tendik at UMPWR who are still not fluent in reading the Koran to always learn. ‘Those who are not yet fluent in reading the Qur'an, do not be ashamed, take the time to learn’, he ordered. In addition, H. Sartu Ali Muhsin, S.Pd also emphasised the importance of congregational prayer in the mosque.
‘If the prayer is good, then the heart is healthy. If the heart is healthy, then the life will be good’, he explained.
H. Sartu Ali Muhsin, S.Pd said that there are at least 10 reasons why people feel poor and inadequate, namely:
1. The purpose of life and its greatest ambition is the world;
2. Ignorance of religious knowledge;
3. Following the whispers of the devil by committing sins and innovations;
4. Associating with the rich and not associating with the poor;
5. Lack of gratitude for small favours;
6. A sick and dead heart;
7. Lack of worship;
8. Doing haram work and income;
9. Unwillingness to work and laziness;
10. Rarely praying.
