Universitas Muhamamdiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - in order to enliven Ramadan 1446 H / 2025 M, held Gebyar Ramadan Kampus (GEMAS) for 28 days, namely 1 March 2025 to 28 March 2025. GEMAS was attended by 31 MSME stands that lined the front of the UMPWR Central Campus on Jl. K.H. Ahmad Dahlan Purworejo. Various kinds of Ramadan takjil snacks are available at this GEMAS event.
These 31 MSME stands were attended by UMPWR students and the general public. In addition to GEMAS, during the month of Ramadan 1446 H, UMPWR also organised various events such as Fajr Study for the public every morning in the East Campus Seminar Room, breaking the fast with students at the Campus Mosque, Friday morning recitation for lecturers and staff, Nuzulul Qur'an recitation, to receiving and distributing Zakat Fitri. GEMAS UMPWR which is held every year is not only to accommodate local MSME players but also to enliven the ‘World of Takjilan’ before breaking the fast. In addition, it is also to introduce UMPWR to the community.
‘We utilise a little bit of the road in front of the campus, to attract the public to get closer to see the displays of MSME players in the stalls!’ said Nurmansyah Alami, a UMPWR lecturer in charge of Bazaar and MSMEs.
GEMAS UMPWR is not meant to compete with MSME players who already exist in the north of the campus and along the Lusani intersection to the Arts Building. However, this annual event is actually increasingly reviving and hopes to further prosper the MSME players who already exist around the campus.
‘People are increasingly recognising this area as the most comfortable and strategic centre for Takjil and Ngabuburit hunting.’ Nurmansyah explained.
