Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - In addition to Research Collaboration activities, UMPWR lecturers also carry out international community service activities through Sabbatical Leave (SL). International community service was carried out to children in the Hulu Langat Guidance Studio, Selangor on 23 to 27 February 2025. This is UMPWR's contribution in building a healthy, independent and knowledgeable generation through international service in SB Hulu Langat Malaysia.
This studio is a non-formal educational institution for Indonesian migrant children who do not have official documents, under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) Kuala Lumpur. This studio is a place to provide education for migrant children who are constrained in obtaining formal education in Malaysia.
Through this activity, the service team from the Management Study Programme chaired by Esti Margiyanti Utami, S.E., M.Si., together with Dr. Intan Puspitasari, S.E., M.Sc, Endah Pri Ariningsih, S.E., M.Sc., Fitri Rahmawati, S.E., M.M, and Budiyanto, S.E., M.Sc. provided education on financial literacy through the introduction of global currencies and entrepreneurial skills from an early age. Dr. Intan Puspitasari, S.E., M.Sc as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics UMPWR added that this activity provides an introduction and understanding related to financial literacy and fosters an entrepreneurial spirit from an early age in order to become an independent and resilient generation in the future.
In addition, lecturers of the Animal Husbandry Study Programme held a campaign on the importance of milk consumption for children with team leader Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeki Wibawanti with Dr. Roisu E. Mudawaroch, M. P, Zulfanita, M. P, Rinawidiastuti, M.Si, Faruq Iskandar, M. Si. Through this activity, it is hoped that the children in the Learning Studio will be fond of drinking milk and will later become healthy children and optimal growth and development so that they become strong children.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tusino as Vice Rector IV for Cooperation and Al Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan added that this international service activity is a form of UMPWR's contribution in sharing knowledge and knowledge to have a positive impact on communities abroad, especially children in the Hulu Langat Guidance Studio.
