UMPWR Strengthens Cooperation Through Research Collaboration and Guest Lecture with MSU, Malaysia

Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - implemented the cooperation that has been established with Management Science University (MSU), Malaysia on 23 to 27 February 2025. A total of six UMPWR lecturers undertook Sabbatical Leave (SL) which included Research Collaboration and Guest Lecture at MSU. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreement was previously signed by UMPWR Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd, and Vice Rector IV for Cooperation, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tusino, M.Pd which was then followed up by the Bureau of Cooperation and International Affairs (KUI) through various research and academic activities.

Through the SL programme this time conducting 4 Research Collaborations at once with MSU. Head of KUI UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jeki Wibawanti, M.Eng., M.Si, together with lecturers from the Animal Science Study Program (Prodi) Dr. Roisu E. Mudawaroch, M. P, Zulfanita, M. P, Rinawidiastuti, M.Si, Faruq Iskandar, M. Si collaborated with Dr. Santhra S. Balan from MSU in research related to Yogurt Drink with Mangosteen Rind Extract as an Antioxidant. In addition to research, they also delivered a guest lecture entitled The Role of Dairy Products as Functional Drinks and Marketing Strategies to MSU students.

The Dean of UMPWR's Faculty of Economics, Dr Intan Puspitasari, S.E., M.Sc., explained that the Management Study Programme is also involved in research collaboration with MSU through three research proposals. The first research entitled Differences of The Influence of Financial Literacy on The Investment Decisions of Indonesia and Malaysia's Z Generation Through Investment Risk, which was chaired by Dr Intan with Dr Nur H. Roslan from MSU. 


The second research entitled Trust, Halal Awareness and Religiosity Influence Intention to Purchase Halal Cosmetics with Attitude Toward Product as Mediation Among Gen Z In Indonesia and Malaysia, which was chaired by Endah Pri Ariningsih, S.E., M.Sc., in collaboration with Dr Nur Azima from MSU while the third research, The Influence of Hard Skills, Soft Skills, and Self-Efficacy on The Work Readiness of Generation Z Final Year Students, was chaired by Fitri Rahmawati, S.E., M.M and Esti Margiyanti utami, S.E., M.Si. in collaboration with Dr Umi Nazira from MSU.

On this occasion, Dr Intan also delivered a guest lecture on Gen Z Personality Types in Financial Management, while Management Study Programme lecturer, Budiyanto, S.E., M.Sc., provided material on FOMO (Fear of Missing Out): Emotional and Behavioural Consequences. Through his presentation, Budiyanto explained how FOMO can cause anxiety due to the fear of missing out on an experience and is often used by marketers to increase consumer buying interest.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tusino added that UMPWR is now expanding International Mobility which encourages lecturers to conduct activities abroad to expand networks and increase publications. This can support academic improvement and accreditation of study programmes.
