Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) held a Seminar and Workshop on Kurikulum Merdeka-Oriented Learning Tools with the theme “Practice of Preparing Learning Tools for the Pre-Introduction to School Field Program (PLP)” for students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) UMPWR in 2025. The activity took place for 2 days on February 25-26, 2025, which presented a resource person from SMA Negeri 7 Purworejo, Tri Wuryani Yustisio, M.Pd.Si.
This activity was attended by 317 6th semester students and also 17 supervisors from 8 study programs in FKIP, namely Indonesian Language and Literature Education (PBSI), Physics Education, English Language Education (PBI), Automotive Engineering Education (PTO), Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD), Economics Education, Mathematics Education, and Javanese Language and Literature Education (PBSJ).
Dr. Herlina Setyowati, M.Pd. as the Chairperson of the Committee said that this activity is a routine activity of FKIP to provide provisions and skills to 6th semester students in preparing pre-PLP (IKM-oriented) learning devices. The goal is that students are able to design and compile independent curriculum learning tools, adapt to curriculum changes that occur in education units, and choose appropriate learning methods and media for students with diverse needs.
“The activity is for 2 days, starting today Tuesday to Wednesday. Today's activity is a seminar at the Kasman Singodimejo Auditorium, then on Wednesday we hold a workshop in the classroom. As for the activities, namely compiling learning tools, the students will be accompanied by educational practitioners and lecturers,” he explained.
The Dean of FKIP UMPWR, Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, S.Si., M.Pd. was also present to give a speech as well as open the activity. In his remarks, Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, S.Si., M.Pd. explained that this activity is very important to equip prospective PLP participants so that later they are better prepared to carry out PLP in schools, especially related to the independent curriculum.
He hopes that when students go to school, they can carry out various activities assigned professionally.
“We hope that students will be able to implement the knowledge gained from this activity and can carry out the tasks given by the school related to the preparation of teaching modules and other school administration activities with full responsibility and professionalism,” he said.
The speaker in this activity, Tri Wuryani Yustisio, M.Pd.Si., Teacher of SMA Negeri 7 Purworejo, presented material related to the socialization and challenges of implementing the independent curriculum.
