Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - is proud to announce the official handover of 11 students participating in the International Community Service Programme (KKN)-Internship to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Cawangan Pahang, Raub Campus, Malaysia. The handover ceremony was held on 18 February 2025 and was received directly by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of UiTM, Dr Nazirah Binti Ramli.
The International KKN-Internship programme is a tangible manifestation of cooperation between UMPWR and UiTM in improving student competence through practical experience and community service at the international level. The programme will run from 18 February 2025 to 14 March 2025.
In his speech, the Rector of UMPWR, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., expressed his appreciation and hope for the implementation of this programme. ‘This International KKN-Internship programme is a strategic step to equip students with global experience, while strengthening the cooperation network between UMPWR and UiTM. We hope students can make the most of this opportunity to learn, contribute, and build relationships that benefit both institutions,’ he said.
The students consisted of 11 people with the following details:
- 4 students of English Education Study Programme (PBI)
- 4 students of Psychology Study Programme
- 2 students of Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Programme
- 1 student of Agribusiness Study Programme
They will be placed in several strategic locations in Malaysia, namely:
1. Al-Falah Batu Talam Religious High School
2. Al-Ulum Addiniah Dong Religious Secondary School
3. Al-Fateh Islamic Tahfiz Integration (SRITI) Lower School
4. Raub Agricultural Department
Abdul Ngafif, M.Pd.B.I. as the representative of UMPWR from the Bureau of Cooperation and International Affairs in the field of foreign cooperation was also present at the handover ceremony to ensure the smooth handover process and coordination with UiTM.
Dr Nazirah Binti Ramli, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at UiTM, welcomed the arrival of UMPWR students. ‘We are very enthusiastic to receive UMPWR students at UiTM. This programme is not only an exchange of knowledge, but also strengthens the relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia through educational collaboration,’ she said.
The International KKN-Internship programme is expected to have a positive impact on UMPWR students in developing academic, professional, and social skills, while strengthening bilateral relations between UMPWR and UiTM.
In addition to UiTM, in the series of visits to Malaysia, UMPWR also signed several collaborations with several institutions including Al-Ulum Addiniah Religious High School, Dong, Raub; Al-Falah Batu Talam Religious High School, Raub; and Al-Fateh Teras Islamic Integration Institute (SRITI), Raub.
