Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - Psychology Student Association (HIMA) participated in the XIV regional deliberation of the Indonesian Psychology Student Association (ILMPI) Region III (Central Java and Kalimantan) on 14 - 16 February 2025. The activity which was held at Graha Wiyata Patemon Semarang & the Dean's Room of the Faculty of Education and Psychology UNNES was attended by the Chairperson, delegates, and administrators of ILMPI Region III. The speakers in this activity were Liftiah, S.Psi, M.Psi, Ph.D.Psychologist and Yudi Kurniawan, S.Psi, M.Psi., Psychologist.
ILMPI is a national level psychology student organisation that houses psychology students throughout Indonesia. At the XIV Regional Conference, ILMPI region III reported the accountability of activities during one management period, elected the regional coordinator and the completeness of the ILMPI regional body for the 2025-2026 period, and as a gathering place for University Psychology students who are members of ILMPI region III.
Beginning with the holding of a national seminar discussing the issue of Psychology with the theme ‘Grow Together, Embrace The Future: Realising Smiling Indonesia With Psychology’ with speakers who raised the role of psychology in improving individuals and communities through a scientific, humanist and inclusive approach. Liftiah, S.Psi, M.Psi, Ph.D.Psychologist said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not a substitute for humans, but an assistant that helps us work more effectively.
‘No matter how sophisticated technology is, without an understanding of psychology, it is just a tool without meaning. We are the ones who give direction and value to its use’, he explained. (Akb/KP).
