University of Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - continues cooperation with the Basic School of Leadership of the Ummah and Nation (SDKUB) Purworejo Regency marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Monday, 17 February 2025. The activity which was held in the Main Meeting Room of the UMPWR Rectorate Building was attended by the Rector, Vice Rector I, Head of the International Affairs Office (KUI), and Head of the UMPWR Foreign Cooperation Section; and from the SDKUB side, the Principal and several Teachers.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed directly by UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd. and the Head of SDKUB Purworejo Sutrisno, S.Pd. This Memorandum of Understanding is an extension of the existing cooperation that includes the scope of teaching, research, and community service. The Rector of UMPWR said that so far there have been many implementations of cooperation between UMPWR and SDKUB Purworejo, including Parenting schools. The Rector hopes that in the future there will be more cooperation activities carried out.
‘In the future, hopefully there will be more collaborative activities that can be carried out between UMPWR and SDKUB. UMPWR needs a place to carry out research, and community service so hopefully with this collaboration SDKUB can bridge’, explained the rector.
Head of SDKUB Purworejo Sutrisno, S.Pd., expressed his deepest gratitude to UMPWR for the cooperation. ‘Thank you to UMPWR. So far we have also collaborated with PSikology and PGSD Study Programmes, most recently UMPWR lecturers filled Parenting socialisation. This Memorandum of Understanding becomes the umbrella of cooperation between UMPWR - SDKUB’, he explained. He hopes that the existing cooperation will not only develop in PGSD and Psychology but also other potentials to prepare leaders of the people and nation which is the vision of SDKUB to prepare a generation of leaders.
Sutrisno said that this year SDKUB for the first time will also be a place for UMPWR students to carry out internships. Not only that, teachers at SDKUB are also graduates of UMPWR.
Head of KUI UMPWR Dr Jeki Mediantari Wahyu Wibawanti, M.Eng., M.Si welcomed this collaboration, and hoped that there will also be many collaborative implementations that will be carried out. Vice Rector I of UMPWR Dr. Dwi Irawati, S.E., M.Si., CRM also hopes that the existing cooperation is not only within the scope of FKIP but can touch all faculties at UMPWR. (akb / KP).
