Universitas Muhamamdiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - received a visit of friendship and Benchmarking from Universitas Pendidikan Muhammadiyah (UNIMUDA) Sorong on Tuesday, 21 January 2025 afternoon. Located in the Main Meeting Room of the UMPWR Rectorate Building, UNIMUDA Sorong's arrival aims to connect and also Benchmarking related to UNIMUDA's plan to open an Automotive Education Study Programme (PTO).
UNIMUDA Sorong in this case attended directly by the Rector Dr. Rusmadji, M.Si., Head of BPP Anang Triyoso, M.Pd., Head of Development Ari Wibowo, M.Pd., Protocol Dr. Waskito Aji Suryo Putro, M.Or, and Prof. Zamroni. The guests from UNIMUDA were received directly by the Chairman of the UMPWR Daily Governing Board Drs. Muh. Hamidi, M.Pd., UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd., Dean of FKIP UMPWR Dr. Riawan Yudi Purwoko, M.Pd., Head of PTO UMPWR Dwi Jatmoko, M.Pd., and all lecturers of PTO UMPWR.
In his remarks, UMPWR Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teguh Wibowo, M.Pd said that the UMPWR PTO Study Programme is currently applying for re-accreditation with a target of UNGGUL. ‘Currently the UMPWR PTO study programme is in the process of applying for accreditation with a target of Unggul. Although the validity period expires in 2026, PTO UMPWR dares to apply for it now (in 2025)’, he explained.
The Rector also said that UMPWR PTO Study Program currently has 6 lecturers, and one of them has become a Professor on behalf of Prof. Dr. Suyitno, M.Pd. The existence of this Professor is an extraordinary achievement for the UMPWR PTO study programme. The Rector also said that the PTO Study Program in Indonesia is still very small, therefore the UMPWR PTO Study Program also often gets grants from the government.
The event continued with the delivery of the Rector Dr. Rusmadji, M.Si regarding the aims and objectives of the UNIMUDA group's presence to UMPWR, namely related to the plan to open a PTO Study Program at UNIMUDA, as well as discussions with the Head of Study Program and UMPWR PTO lecturers.
