Universitas Muhammadiyah Purworejo (UMPWR) - lecturer in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, Rinawidiastuti, S.Pt., M.Si., provided training on Ruminant Feed and Waste Processing to farmer and livestock groups in Pacor Village, Kutoarjo District, Purworejo Regency on Sunday, 15 December 2024 yesterday. This training activity is a Community Service programme for UMPWR lecturers. Rinawidiastuti, S.Pt., M.Si., in this case assisted by her student Delta Setiawan.
Located at Pacor Village Hall, Kutoarjo District, Purworejo Regency, the training was attended by members of the Pacor Village Livestock Farmer Group and Village Apparatus Representatives totalling 15 people. The purpose of the activity is to enable members of the Livestock Farmer Group to process livestock and agricultural waste into useful and economically valuable products to improve family and community welfare.
The activity began with the opening by the Village Head, he said that the village received financial assistance allocated to buy sheep and was raised by 24 farmers from KTT members with each getting 2 livestock (1 male, 1 female), but there were still problems related to the availability of feed for the dry season and livestock waste that had not been processed. In this regard, a service was carried out on the utilisation of agricultural and livestock waste, especially ruminants, into silage, biochar briquettes, vegetable pesticides. At the end of the activity, a training/demo was conducted on how to process the agricultural and livestock waste.
